School Messenger

Students are required to sign in or out at the office if they arrive late or depart early. Parents and legal guardians are required to notify the School Messenger system or call the school of any changes to their child's attendance. 

School District No. 27 uses the School Messenger App (Safe Arrival) to inform parents and legal guardians school and district information including students' "unexcused" absences.  The School Messenger App or automated number 1-833-582-6944 is a free and easy-to-use tool for families to notify when their child is away, late, or leaving early and it keeps you connected to your child's school and district.  


Please note:

  • Can notify using School Messenger App or call it's automated number 1-833-582-6944 for any changes to their child's attendance (ie: late arrival, early departure or absent), or can contact the school directly.  
  • The school must receive the pre-authorization before the student is approved to leave as Columneetza is a "closed campus". 
  • Every student is required to sign in/out at the school's office with our receptionist if they arrive late or depart early.  Besides the parent/legal guardian, only the emergency contacts listed on file (supplied by the parent) are permitted to pick up a student.
  • To inquire about an "unexcused" absence notification, please contact your child's teacher directly by email.  The teachers' email addresses are available under our Staff Directory.
  • Students' excused absences must be received prior to 4:00 pm or will be considered "unexcused".

1693277526617.jpegTo report an absence by phone, please call School Messenger's automated number at 1-833-582-6944 or the school at 250-392-4158.  If you receive our answering machine, please leave a brief message with the following information:

        1.  Student's - Full name
        2.  Date Away (ie: Monday Oct 16th).
        3.  Time Away (ie: First block, all day, arriving late or departing early from school with the specific time and if an emergency contact is picking up the student).
        4.  Reason (ie: Sick, Vacation, Appointment, Other).
