Registration and Yearly Student Documentation

We welcome children who live in our catchment as designated by SD27 and the Province of BC. There are a variety of documents that must be shown when registering a child. All public schools in the province require basics such as birth certificates, care cards, proof of residency or address (x2), updated information regarding custody or court orders, and consent for the child's previous school to forward their student files to us.

For families whose children are returning to school, parents/caregivers are asked to review the annual Verification form their child brings home in September. The information on this form is taken from MyEd which is used throughout BC to maintain student records. If anything is inaccurate on the verification form, we ask that you correct it before signing and sending it back to school. Other forms that need to be reviewed each new year are the Outside Media and Personal Consent and Computer/Privacy Consent forms.

In order for your child to access devices for educational use such as school laptops, tablets, and some online learning platforms (vetted through SD27), both parents/caregivers and students (from Grades 4-12)  should read and understand the Computer/Privacy consent form before signing it each September.

Lastly, parents/caregivers of children who self identify as Indigenous may wish for their children to receive academic and cultural support while attending Cariboo-Chilcotin schools. The programs are provided in accordance with the Ministry of Education Guidelines for Indigenous Education and in consultation with the First Nations Education Council (FNEC). This document also needs to be reviewed and confirmed each September for support to continue.

Please feel free to reach out to our school's principal, ISW or secretary, if you have any questions or need assistance navigating these essential documents.
