Honouring Orange Shirt Day and National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in SD 27
September 30 is a significant day as it is when Orange Shirt Day has been observed for more than a decade to bring awareness to the history and legacy of residential school in Canada but more importantly, locally. More recently that has become a national observance with Truth and Reconciliation Day. We are grateful to the Orange Shirt Society and First Nations for hosting events for students, staff, and community to learn and show their respect and allyship. We also thank school communities for turning their hearts and minds to meaningful learning and engagement.
